Provide quality Chinese language instructions in a safe environment to local community members in Sarasota and surrounding counties.

Promote understanding and appreciation of traditional Chinese culture, history and philosophy.

Promote friendship and serve as a liaison between the American Chinese community and the non-Chinese speaking community.

At Huaxia Chinese School in White Plain, NY The Sarasota Chinese Academy was born after a visit to Huaxia Chinese School in White Plain, NY in 2002. Jinbo Yin, who later founded The Sarasota Chinese Academy, was deeply moved by the students’ enjoyment, teachers’ dedication and curriculum the school offered. Jinbo’s dream was to provide a similar learning environment for his two daughters and all children in the Sarasota-Bradenton area who wanted to learn about Chinese language and culture. After years of hard work and dedication from many people, the Sarasota Chinese Academy finally opened to the public in the Fall of 2006.

Since its inception the Sarasota Chinese Academy has grown in enrollment and community involvement. Our school is active through language classes and cultural events. There are approximately fifty to sixty students enrolled on a semester basis. We have ten teachers who teach pre-k through adult.
